Christian was born in Detroit, MI, where he decided as a youth to avoid the route of 'failed white rapper.' In middle school he played percussion in the band. During his required home practice time he opened up his music on the stand and proceeded to play along with Stewart Copeland on Reggatta de Blanc. He played guitar in high school bands, impatiently waiting during practice until the drummer would have to pee so he could hop behind the kit.
Christian drummed for the A-Ross Experience during his college years at Columbia University. After graduating he signed up for a two-year tour of duty teaching first and second grade in the South Bronx. Mr. Sparling realized his little ones had suffered through enough accoustic-guitar assembly performances, so he combed Craigslist for a band to join. The Accelerated Reading Club was born! When our demo engineer Sweet Suga T asked, "Wait, what's your band's name again?" we knew it was time for a change.
